Working Together for Your Oral Health
We pride ourselves on the service we provide our patients. Prior to your initial visit, if the appointment is made in advance, we will be sending a letter and all the paper work, which will need to be filled out prior to the appointment. At this appointment, Dr. Mulero will take approximately an hour to do a thorough examination, which will include radiographs, diagnosis and a treatment plan.
In order to have enough time to be seen, we ask that you bring all the paper work already filled out.
It is on this initial visit that Dr. Mulero will talk directly to the patient to assess past experiences so that he can improve your experience for future visits.
If you have anxiety about dental work, Dr. Mulero will give you different options for making the appointment more comfortable. These options may include either nitrous oxide or anxiolysis (treatment of anxiety with an oral medication similar to oral sedation).
It is very important to us to listen to your concerns and past experiences so we can customize your treatment. We will go over pertinent medical history, perform a head and neck exam and cancer screening, as well as check for decay, which may be present on your teeth. Also, we will perform a thorough periodontal examination (check for gum disease) to determine your level of oral health.
When the examination is completed and the treatment plan explained we will schedule the appointments for the indicated and recommended treatment. In the event the patient’s treatment plan is too extensive or additional information is needed, Dr. Mulero may schedule an additional visit prior to commencing treatment in order to make sure all of the treatment is explained properly and with clarity.
